Ardstinchar Castle was built around 1450 by Hugh Kennedy of the House of Dunure. By 1770 the castle had fallen into disrepair and the remains were used to build several houses and an inn (now the King’s Arms Hotel in Ballantrae).

Castle Haven is a D-shaped galleried dun sitting on the Borgue Peninsula in Dumfries & Galloway. While very little is known of the origins of the structure, it was partially reconstructed in the early 1900’s.
